New "Tinkering World Tour" Workshop
Miss traveling to different countries? Want to visit artists’ workshops, high/low tech makerspaces and interactive museums from around the world? Let’s celebrate the later days of the covid-19 pandemic period by getting inspired by people and places that combine art, science, technology and delightful ideas.
We’re launching unique worldwide four-week long workshop staring on April 28th where we will travel virtually to different cities and countries around the world and meet makers, tinkerers, artists and musicians. On this "first season" of the Tinkering World Tour we’ll visit Nairobi, Berlin, New Mexico, Aarhus and Tokyo/Kyoto. For each session we'll take a behind-the-scenes tour of a makerspace, engage with a hands-on tinkering activity that can be done with everyday materials and meet artists who use a tinkering approach to explore music, dance, cooking or nature!
We are confirming more guests along the way and are saving space for surprises but so far we know that we will take field trips to GMin’s Innovation Hub in Nairobi, Futurium in Berlin, The Hand and Machine research group at the University of New Mexico, "Tsukuru-Manabu" makerspace in Kyoto, and the Dokk1 Library makerspace in Aarhus.
This workshop is designed for artists/makers who want to see tools and materials from around the world, educators interested in checking out inspiring learning environments and tinkering enthusiast families. Learn more on our indiegogo page and join the 'virtual' tinkering journey!
