Our Saudi Arabia Maker Camp Experience

This past summer we joined an amazing group of artists, makers and educators from around the US and Middle East to develop a program for Saudi Arabian high school students to engage with science, art, technology and design.

I wrote about the the challenges and joys of tinkering with the local facilitators and program participants in an article that was recently published on Make: website.

The project got us thinking in new ways about forming a team of tinkering educators and crafting a series of workshops that expose students to tools and materials while encouraging them to follow a design process to develop their own practical or playful ideas.

We were grateful for the experience and look forward to continuing experiments with these ideas in innovative settings around the world.
