Wonderful Idea Co. presents a weekend workshop to explore the intersections of art, science and delightful ideas. Whether you are a newbie or an experienced maker, we encourage you to join in the community, slow down and mess around with an interesting collection of high and low tech tools and materials.

In this workshop (for tinkerers ages 10 and up) led by artist and maker Corinne Okara Takada, you will make a light-up LED fan based on the designs displayed in Japanese summer festivals and used in Obon dancing. This modern take on the Uchiwa fan illuminates so that when people dance at dusk, the sweep of their hands are traced in the fan’s arc of light.

After the workshop we encoruage participants to take their creations to the 80th annual Ginza Bazaar and Bon Odori in San Francisco's Japan Town and join the celebration.
